“ Oh my word!!! Where to begin? This place is a hidden gem of Kentuckiana! If you haven't tried this place you should! We've been here more times than we can count now but never have we gotten a bad meal. We travel 30 mins to eat here. We typically go for their Chicago Deep Dish, Stuffed crust pizza, & Cheese bread! Don't judge, we have boys all of which 3 are teens. So that feeds are crew of 6 with tons leftover to take home. Recently we've been able to try their lunch menu items. Holy Toledo!!! The Stromboli is on the appetizer menu but that thing is huge and can easily feed 2 people. It is AMAZING! The Gyro and the Chicago Club are in my pics! Phenomenal. The one thing that is consistent across the board about their food is the high quality and they don't skimp on quantity either. This place doesn't break the bank either. They keep the prices low because their overhead is low. It's run by a wonderful couple John and Renee! They are some of the nicest people you'll meet and love to serve their community. If you have any train fanatics in your household they have a working model train that travels around the restaurant. It's very family friendly. Go check them out! You won't regret it!! ”
“ Best Chicago style pizza you can find in the south. I love a locally owned and down to earth spot to take my friends and family. Check out the train too. Salad bar looks amazing but I have not had it yet. Service was great. Very clean restaurant. ”
“ This place is top notch!! The owners love the community and help in every way possible. Dave Portnoy needs to check them out!! ”
“ Great pizza! The owners are also great people and give back to their community. The buffet they have is very good too! ”
“ This is a very delicious and enjoyable way to end an evening or grab a quick bite for lunch. It's entertaining and kind of whimsical, and hits just right on the tb's. Come in to see the train or just mingle with the locals and have a beer! Chicago City Pizza is a great spot in this little "Mayberry" like town to relax and enjoy some great food! ”
“ The food... Pizza... Incredible. From the deep dish to the thin crust... Every bite was delicious, fresh, and hot. Service... You cannot ask for any better from a family owned restaurant. The ambience is intriguing. The ambience... Is a very eclectic mix of Chicago city. Memorabilia, Italian culture. Plus there is a train that runs every 15 minutes around the perimeter of the ceiling inside. How cool is that? ”
“ If you're anywhere near Scottsburg and hungry, I HIGHLY recommend stopping in. We just happened to be in town for the 1st time and were looking for a place to eat. It's off the southeast corner of the main square, which is east of 65 and south of the main drag that cuts through town. Parking is simply street parking, of which there was an abundance when we dropped in. The building is a former doctor's office, to whom they pay tribute along the back wall of the restaurant. Not sure if it's always a buffet set up when you dine in, but that is what we were told. It was $10/person, which we thought was an amazing deal considering the quality of food they are offering. The salad bar offers an awesome selection of mixed greens as opposed to iceberg lettuce along with an abundance of cheese, meat, veggie options, and dressings for adding to your salad. Admittedly I am not normally a salad guy (although I have had to become more so of one with age), but this was one of the best layouts I have personally seen, especially for a pizza joint. The buffet version for the pizza was a different experience than we have had before. You get in line and request the slices you want from the kind lady working behind the counter. If the place is busy, it seems like this could take some time, but it was just the 2 of us on this early weekend lunch, so we didn't have a wait. I believe there were 5 pizza options available to choose from, including a legitimate deep-dish, along with some of the best garlic cheese bread we have had. Whether on the salad bar, their pizzas, or their cheese bread, they do not skimp on the cheese. We aren't typically buffet consumers, but for the quality of food they are serving that would change if they were anywhere close to us. Friendly service, fantastic variety and tasting food, and a great value at the price they're charging. If we ever find ourselves near Scottsburg again for any reason, I think it's safe to say we will try dine here again. ”
“ Delicious pizza and breadsticks! Don't forget the beer cheese dip and marinara sauce, it's awesome. We made at this restaurant a couple of times but we are usually carry-out customers . They have great service and the building is so old and full of character! It's our favorite place to eat in Scottsburg . Super nice people to do business with ! ”
“ New pizza buffet on the square. I went to the grand opening and then are still working on details but I hope they have a long run. The buffet was $9.99. It included pizza and salad . I was told the price could fluctuate as they offered new or special items. On day 1 they offered tea, lemonade or water. I believe soda was coming soon. The seating is family style so is the atmosphere. It's all very much like eating at a friend or neighbors house. The pizza is not self serve, you tell them what you want. They have deep dish, hand tossed and thin crust. I did not try the deep dish because at the time they only had cheese ready the hand tossed was a little too doughy for me. Normally I would like that style but what I really enjoyed was the thin crust. It had a very large amount of cheese versus crust. I do not eat salad, but the salad bar looked really nice. also because I did not go to the salad bar, The service was top-notch. I was told by a friend of their family that they really want to make you happy. You can also order from the menu. This building used to be home to a beloved local doctor. There is a portrait of him up in the restaurant, the owners were inspired by his spirit of charity, where he never turned away a patient due to their lack of payment. ”
